Harvard Model United Nations Australia 2024

It is with great honor and privilege that I invite you to the Second session of Harvard Model United Nations Australia. The second iteration of our conference–and first in-person–will be held from Thursday, June 6th to Sunday, June 9th, 2024. 

As our international community continues to face challenges, it is important we educate, empower, and encourage the youth to take action and collaborate with one another. In June 2024, our staff, comprised of Harvard College undergraduates, will be joined by high school delegates with the goal of learning about diplomacy, while fostering relationships that will be strengthened during committee and maintained for years to come. They will formulate resolutions, address conflicting beliefs, and work towards ameliorating issues that plague the international community. Though times are changing, the values and mission of Harvard Model UN remain the same: we are committed now more than ever to provide the new generation with a platform on which they can collaborate, discuss, and grow as individuals, students, and leaders.

After seven long years of Model UN, I am honored to end my journey serving as the Secretary-General of HMUN Australia 2024. As a (former) delegate and staffer, it has been a privilege to meet so many impactful and ambitious individuals from all over the world, some of whom I still remember from my first days in committee. It is these forged relations, as well as the tutelage, guidance, and growth that former mentors and fellow conference leaders have offered me, that I take away from the Model UN community. For this, I am grateful.

I am also thankful for the unwavering commitment and passion of the delegates, faculty advisors, and staffers that dedicate their time and effort to our conferences–it is my fervent belief that people are the heart of Model UN, and it is one that is proven time and time again. I am immensely honored to be working alongside the hardworking HMUN Australia 2024 Secretariat and Directors, all of whom wish to provide a fulfilling experience for our committed students.
